Blog post 6- Postgraduate Studies
The idea of studying after graduation has always been in my head. I have also thought about doing an exchange, but due to the pandemic I believe will no longer be able to do it. This is why doing a postgraduate degree is an idea that excites me. I would like to do it outside the country, not so much for academic reasons, but because of my desire to see new places and live outside my comfort zone for a while.
Spain and Germany are two countries that interest me a lot to do a postgraduate degree. I have heard very good comments about life in Spain: the people are very nice, the culture is very diverse and the atmosphere is very pleasant. On the other hand, I can speak German and I have family in Germany that I would like to be able to visit. However, if I am honest, I wouldn’t live with my family, but I would like to stay in a place where I could feel completely independent.
Regarding to postgraduate studies, I want to do a master’s degree related to psychology, particularly psychoanalysis. Another option would be philosophy. Both subjects are the ones that interest me the most and I hope that my professional practice would be linked to those fields. I wouldn’t like to do an online postgraduate degree because a lot of valuable experiences would be lost learning this way. Especially when it comes to working with people. However, I wouldn’t like the university to takes away most of my time, because one of my priorities is to be able to do other activities such as getting to know the country where I’ll be living. That’s why, I believe that a blended system would be the way that meets both requirements stated above.
